Hi everyone, today I encountered a situation with my computer where the partition containing my Documents folder disappeared unexpectedly. I wasn’t sure if I had deleted it, but I had been working with another drive in the Disk Management area of the Properties window at some point. The main concern is that because the Documents location was set to this partition and then removed, the file explorer displayed a different name—'F:'—instead of 'Documents.'
I’m trying to figure out how to recreate a proper Documents folder that Windows recognizes correctly, including its icon and path settings. I checked the registry for the user folder shell and found some entries, but I’m not sure what adjustments are needed for the Personal folder specifically. Most of the online advice I’ve seen seems to be for cases where the whole folder is lost, not just a name change. Could you help clarify the steps or let me know if there’s something specific I should modify in the registry? Thanks a lot!
