I'm a bit short on resources, having checked around 50 outdoor range extenders. I'm trying to assist a friend who needs Wi-Fi coverage from a barn about 300 feet away. Running cables isn't feasible, so I'm looking for the best and simplest options that can reach 300-500 feet. Should it be mounted outside the house? Is a device on the second floor facing the barn sufficient? Can I reuse the same network name and login details across buildings to simplify access? Thanks ahead of time.

Do you see a clear path from the barn to the house? I’ll link up something similar here: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoBeam...B0713XMHH9. Then configure a Wi-Fi AP at the second spot (use the same name) and you’ll have internet access.

You're seeking a range extender with simple setup, not a bridge. Prioritizing user-friendly configuration and avoiding placing a second router in the outbuilding for staff convenience.
