I need advice since my current PC isn’t ideal for upgrades because the motherboard is quite old. I found an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F, which is an DDR4 ATX board with an AM4 socket. However, I’m not very confident with PC components, so can you confirm if a 1660TI and AMD Ryzen 5 3600X will work with this board? Also, do you recommend a budget-friendly yet reliable power supply? Thanks a lot!

Yes, the GPU and CPU—likely to work well if the board has the latest BIOS.

For a motherboard with assured compatibility, consider any of MSI's MAX boards like Tomahawk Max, gaming plus Max, or B450-A Pro Max. The ASRock B450M/AC is also current and suitable. When reviewing PSU guidelines, look at the tier list for comparisons. Tier B or higher is strongly advised.

I don't know a better CPU right now, but there are options that offer more safety and reliability.

That approach isn't correct—the third generation CPUs require a compatible board, no matter whether it's a Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 7.

Check BIOS updates to ensure CPU compatibility. For power supply, choose one that matches your system's requirements.
