My computer freezes unexpectedly during work or classes. It occurred twice today, and when I opened Chrome, the security alert said there was an unwanted app in Google Chrome. I clicked clean, but it kept appearing each time. The freezing happens only when using Chrome. I’m unsure if it’s Chrome or another issue. My system specs are: i5 11400F, GTX 1050 Ti, 8GB RAM, 2800MHz B560M-A-Pro, 450W PSU.

You’re likely facing malware issues and aren’t sure how extensive the problem is. I wouldn’t rely on a standard cleanup unless you’re certain. Let me know if it improves.

No files are permanently removed when you delete and reinstall Windows. The system restores its state, including existing files.

When you reinstall Windows, it must be placed on a brand-new drive. This will erase all your data. Save any important files to the cloud or an external storage device beforehand.
