Your dad’s old PC runs Windows XP, and you’re trying to upgrade to Windows 7 by swapping the HDD for a new SSD. When you try a normal boot, it shows the Windows logo but restarts again, cycling through the boot options. The Last Known Boot option seems to work better, staying on the logo longer before rebooting. It might be a compatibility issue or something with the installation process. Double-check the drive format and ensure the SSD is properly seated.

You might need to reinstall Windows 7 on top of the SSD, even if it’s already pre-installed. The CD key may still be required for setup. Using a USB with the operating system could work too.
