Is your connection active on WiFi? Do you have a specific internet speed agreement with your service provider?

Your current internet speed, according to your ISP's advertised rates. Gigabit devices won't improve performance if your internet connection is slow.

Joined the networking discussion board. You’ll require a modem/router or switch equipped with a 1 gigabit ethernet port, an Ethernet cable supporting gigabit rates (Cat5e or superior), and an Ethernet interface on your motherboard or a separate network card featuring a gigabit port. This setup will provide a gigabit link within your local network from your PC to the router/switch. Internet performance remains constrained by your internet service provider’s offerings. To achieve a true gigabit connection to the web, you’d also need a gigabit broadband plan from your ISP. Based on your ISP and regional availability, they might not supply gigabit services.
