Need assistance! The new setup isn’t working properly after drivers are installed.
I've checked my setup: Ryzen 7 5800X, B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2, ref1.1 CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 2 x 16GB DDR4, 3200 RTX 3080 TI, Master Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold, UK plug 850W 80 PLUS Gold, 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD, Crucial P3 Plus 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 boot drive. After installing Windows 10, downloading and installing the drive from Gigabyte, restarting and hitting repair/diagnostic mode repeatedly but still can't get back to Windows. Tried reinstalling Windows and repeating the process, but the issue persists.
Are you attempting to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard? Double-check that you're using the right ones. I've often downloaded incorrect versions because I missed a version number like 1.1 instead of the expected 1.2.
You set up Windows 10, and it functions properly until you add the chipset drivers. Does the issue appear right after installing those drivers or only after restarting your system? Also, is the Windows 10 installer ready to use right away, or does it need several updates once you start the process? If not, create a fresh, up-to-date version and then perform the reinstall.
Remember to verify your BIOS is current before proceeding with any Windows tasks. After that, consider reinstalling with the latest Windows 10 version.
I didn't update the bios since I assumed the current version would work with my CPU.
Yes, updates can finish completely after you install Windows. The list includes entries related to AMD chipset or Ryzen drivers, such as "AMD - Chipset" and "AMD - Ryzen." You might be encountering a driver conflict with the one Windows automatically downloads. Consider updating your BIOS, reinstalling Windows 10, letting it finish all updates, and then restarting. Avoid installing chipset drivers from any website after this step. Try isolating the issue to just that driver. Once you manage a few successful restarts after checking multiple updates, proceed with the chipset driver installation. Look for options to perform a clean install during that process. Having the latest Windows updates from Gigabytes should be fine, even if the chipset drivers aren't fully current. This is usually because Microsoft tests for bugs before releasing them. It’s just a suggestion, and I appreciate your patience. Good luck!
