I recently changed my PC to AM5 and needed to upgrade the CPU, RAM, and motherboard. At first I checked both C and D hard drives but when downloading Starfield the D drive vanished. The specs are: CPU - Ryzen 5 7600x, GPU - Radeon RX 6700XT, MOB - MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk Wifi.

Are there several drives listed, or is it just one? Please tell me which ones are connected and how they’re linked.

I have two SSDs—a Samsung 860 Evo with 500GB and a Western Digital SA150 with 500GB. They’re linked to your motherboard via SATA, and both appeared during the upgrade when you began installing Starfield on the Western Digital drive or the Samsung one remained visible.

Verified that both storage devices are recognized in the BIOS settings. If not, re-examine the cable connections.

Back connections refer to additional ports or interfaces that link the device to external systems, not directly to the internal SATA ports on your board.

if it's not in the bios.. it either is plain dead.. OR a loose connection on the mainboard side if they are seated properly at the drive side. OR the same goes for power cable at the PSU side.
