Need assistance setting up a new Windows system?
Hello, I have been building a new gaming computer for about a year now. I am still missing a graphics card but i was trying to install windows onto the hard drive to get a head start. I have read in other places that i would be able to do this because of the integrated gpu in my cpu. I am using a bootable usb to install windows. It lets me pick my language, time and currency, and etc. It will let me pick my hard drive and start the download and install. Once its done it wants to restart but once its done and it is booting this back in get the attached bsod. hardware: I9-9900k Cpu gigabyte z390 gaming x motherboard seagate barracuda 2tb hardrive G. Skill trident z rgb 2x 8gb ram what is causing this issue or is there a way to find out/fix it? Thanks for the help
It's an HDD. I attempted to unplug the bootable, but it just froze. During installation, it prompts for the entire drive to be selected before partitioning. I recall it likely had 3-4 partitions, with unused space from the extra HDD not being utilized during setup. When referring to using UEFI, you're talking about your BIOS or a bootable USB drive. I’m unsure about the default settings on your BIOS and don’t know how to verify or modify the bootable USB.
UEFI functions as an upgraded version of BIOS. The latest release works well with default settings. Earlier firmware required configuring SATA mode to ACHI.
I experienced slow performance with the Windows desktop after creating a bootable installation drive, and the disk usage reached maximum. After rebooting and performing a system repair, the issue persisted and the system would not boot to the desktop again. An OS update was applied to check for improvements, but it didn’t resolve the problem. I can navigate through BIOS settings without trouble and have a responsive interface.
