Press the power button until the system stops. Disconnect the USB device. Re-enable the power button, and the laptop should start up correctly.

If the system already performed a format and began unpacking files, you can't do much except complete the installation—it's too late at that point.

You might end up installing it without realizing, just need to press F5 or something, select the USB, and then proceed.
