The eMMC acts like a pseudo solid state drive.
It's a bit quicker than a spinning HDD, yet still not very fast. I owned a few tablets and laptops with one.
However, the eMMC's size combined with the 2GB RAM really makes a big difference when using Windows 10.

It seems it was likely included with Windows 8 or 8.1.
However, you'll continue to be missing the necessary drivers.
And it will remain quite slow.

I wouldn't recommend downloading drivers from certain sites, as they often contain viruses. The best choice would be a lightweight Linux system if you really need it, but you might still face similar driver problems.
