The internet connection at your home varies between 200 and 560 Mbps, yet using Ethernet consistently only reaches about 20 Mbps. This could be due to network congestion or device limitations. To improve speed, consider upgrading your router or switching to a wired connection. Downloading large files on Steam also consumes all available bandwidth, so try optimizing your download settings or using a different device. Edited June 16, 2020 by Goku1814
There are several devices linked to the router, each connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
Testing speed while other devices download or upload can skew your results. Make sure this isn’t occurring. If your connection remains slow even in a quiet network, we need to understand what you’re actually getting. What rates do you charge by your ISP? Have you reinstalled the newest network adapter drivers? List all your network hardware brands and the cables used to link them. Have you switched to a different Ethernet cable between the PC and the modem/router?
