Hi, I bought a used computer a few months ago for a good price. It came with an MSI Z390 motherboard, an i9 9900k processor, and 2080 graphics card with 32GB RAM. I upgraded it by getting some better fans, but when I installed the ARGB fans, I realized the original owner had messed up the ARGB header. I’m looking for advice or a fix. Thanks ahead!

Do you have any images available? The discussion seems quite unclear. If the pins are not functional, you'd need an alternative like the link provided: https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coo...ontroller/. Then connect it to a USB hub on your motherboard using a free USB port.

I'd suggest you reach your own decision—if the motherboard can't be fixed, you'd need to swap it for a model without damaged headers.

Discussed the RGB hub options. Various types exist—some require 5V, others 12V, and some are addressable. It's important to note not all fans use PWM; Corsair controllers can work with non-Corsair devices and are adaptable via iCUE software. The advantage is SATA power and USB header control. However, it seems the hub is likely designed for 5V ARGB. Be cautious if the hub can't distinguish between power and RGB connections. Alternatives are available on Amazon and eBay at lower costs, but the recommended choices are: 1) a single Lighting Node Core 2) a Lighting Node Pro plus a few Cores 3) a Commander Core or Commander Pro. I recently received the PWN UpHere 5v ARGB fans along with their controller, but I’m not very familiar with PC hardware in real life. Over three years of watching tutorials, I’ve built up enough knowledge about the key topics.
