Providing a weak recommendation doesn't come across as disrespectful. Reacting with frustration when more knowledgeable individuals explain why it's not a good idea won't boost your popularity. Alternatively, you might benefit from using the openly accessible data available about which PSUs perform better and which underperform, as assessed by experts who truly grasp their design and construction. Some contributors here (excluding me) even share insights on this forum. There are choices available between rigidly sticking to a brand image and randomly choosing in desperation.

It's completely understandable you felt that way. I appreciate your feedback and want to clarify my point. Track records and standards are important, though they shouldn't be taken as absolute. Life doesn’t guarantee anything, but ignoring them entirely can be risky—especially for someone new to the tech field. I’m truly sorry for coming across as dismissive, and I value your honesty. Thank you for pointing this out.

Don't stress about it. The issue is that beginners often assume brands are more important than they actually are, because the sheer number of choices feels confusing. They rely on quick mental shortcuts like "Brand A is good, Brand B is bad." But this approach rarely works, especially when it comes to components like PSUs. If you made a critical mistake in picking something important, it was probably because of the power supply. We should have been more careful about brand bias, so newcomers aren't led astray. I’m not sure you intended to mislead anyone on purpose.

It seems like you're saying something unexpected. Could you clarify what you mean?

Apologies for the confusion, but the i7 2600 is the best fit for your CPU question. You wouldn't need to invest much, as I've been satisfied with my current setup and it has served me well for a long time. The main consideration in 2022 was the longevity of the device.

It's a productive conversation. Because you've consistently declined to share your objectives for this upgrade, the available guidance is mostly focused on general advice.

This aligns perfectly, and while I recognize the value of PSU, I may have rushed my choice before. If you're curious, do you have a method or list you follow when picking a PSU—beyond relying on brand reputation?
