Hello there! I'm just starting out and created an account recently. Over the past couple of days, I've been looking online for a fix because my 4090 RTX began spinning up its fans at 3000 RPM when idle. I'm really worried—I spent three years saving money and don't want to lose everything. I was just watching a stream on Twitch when suddenly all the fans started acting up. I haven’t downloaded anything, and I wasn’t doing anything unusual. The only thing I’ve tried is checking for Windows updates, but I’m not sure if that helped or not. If Windows affected the fan behavior again, could you please assist me? Thank you!

It occurred just once and seems to be gone now. Could you provide more information about your complete system details? That way I can better assist you.

It’s going to be fine. The fans getting excited doesn’t necessarily mean anything big is happening, so let’s calm down before proceeding. Let’s begin by checking some essential details. What are the complete specifications of your device? If possible, install HWMonitor and check the temperatures of your 4090 while the fans are active. Share those readings with us and we’ll continue from there.

Your device is stable and functioning properly. Are the most recent software updates applied? How are the system temperatures performing?

The GPU temperature ranges from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. I installed MSI Afterburner NZXT and Asus GPU Tweak 3, but neither responded. The remaining parts of the system function normally while the GPU remains unresponsive.

If it occurred just once, it's okay—it's probably a computer malfunction. Odd occurrences do happen from time to time.

It hasn't been two days, so running at 3,000 RPM shouldn't be that unusual for the van.
