So here's the story. I have an old pc an hp Compaq elite 8300 to be exact And I've been gaming on in for a while and realize that it was time to upgrade my ram, The Idiot me decided to pull out the ram to check what ddr the ram is so that I can buy another 4gb(later realized that you can find the information on task manager) then I put back the ram and the pc starts beeping (5 beeps), thought I find a way to get it working I just have to reinstall that ram every time I open the pc and its annoying me pls help

You likely misplaced it in the incorrect socket or didn’t force it in enough. There could also be dust in the RAM slot, so clean it with a cloth when the PC is off and unplugged. This should be done while the computer is powered down and disconnected from the power source.

Thanks for the tip—I’ll give it a shot tomorrow. It might just be my nerves since I notice many pages warning about 5 beeps indicating hardware issues, which makes me anxious because this computer holds special meaning for me.
