Hey there, I recently swapped out the motherboard, CPU, and RAM for a DDR5 full upgrade. When I powered on, both the DRAM and CPU indicators lit up, but there was no post light and no keyboard connection—no RGB at all. I’m pretty tech-savvy, and this is for a customer’s PC, so they’re supportive. Still, I’m stuck. The specs are: MSI B650M-A Pro WiFi 7950X3D 3080Ti, 1000W PSU, a good mix of drives—250GB NVMe (B+), 1TB NVMe (games), 500GB SATA SSD (Windows), 4TB HDD, and a 2TB HDD. The setup looks solid.
I’ve tried flashing the BIOS with the tool on the rear of the motherboard, which worked. I checked the RAM’s S/N numbers to confirm both kits were in the right channels—only using DIMM1 and DIMM2. I also removed the GPU and attempted to boot with only the onboard graphics, but that was tricky. I changed the PSU and kept trying different options.

Hi, thank you for checking. I wasn’t sure if that would work, but it’s worth trying. Did you refresh the BIOS on your motherboard? A quick search shows that an older BIOS version wouldn’t support the 7950x3d. It only became compatible starting with BIOS version 7D77v16. You might want to update the BIOS using a different CPU, download the newest version from the manufacturer’s site, or try flashback. From what I found, your board seems to be compatible.
It could be tough to get everything working without causing a crash. Since you’ve only tested one kit at a time before, it’s hard to know how to start properly.
