I placed my new motherboard, CPU, and RAM together. The motherboard is an MSI PRO z690-A, the RAM is T-Force DDR4 3200, the CPU is an i5 - 12600KF, and the GPU is an RX 6600. I set up the system in anticipation of functionality. When I powered it on, all fans started spinning—case, CPU, and GPU fans alike. I examined the monitor, but nothing appeared. Looking closer at the PC, I noticed a red light on the EZ Debug LED. Puzzled, I disassembled the components, verified the CPU pins for damage, confirmed the RAM was properly seated, and checked the GPU connections. I ensured all power was reaching the device. After confirming everything was correct, I restarted the system. The red light persisted, prompting me to suspect a dead CPU. I considered replacing it, but after thorough checks—CPU compatibility, CMOS battery, power supply, RAM installation—I found no problems. Even though my motherboard is DDR4 and the power supply is a 750W Gold+, everything seemed fine out of the box. I reset the CMOS but still couldn’t resolve the issue. Eventually, I decided to replace the CPU. However, I consulted online forums and read numerous opinions: some mentioned CPU failures, others noted compatibility with different models. I cross-referenced reviews showing similar issues with i9-12900KF and i7-12700KF. Despite extensive research, I remained uncertain. I’m still unsure, but I suspect the problem might lie elsewhere—perhaps in the power supply or motherboard itself. For now, I’ll need to replace the CPU.

Is the 4+4 CPU power connected? Is the socket correctly secured? Your system handled a similar setup (the exact indicator wasn’t visible, but it was white, not red). You confirmed the DIMMs, GPU, and PCIe connectors were properly seated. After reporting a failure and verifying the configuration, it now works. These checks are helpful, but any red lights usually signal serious issues. Edited June 5, 2022 by An0maly_76

I just tried now, yes it is. It clicked and everything. Anything else in mind I'll try

If it clicked, it likely wasn't seated properly. Make sure to verify everything and attempt it once more.

Consider the power supply being modular—where cables connect to the device rather than being permanently wired—so ensure the matching connectors are correctly positioned too. A single loose connection can prevent everything from functioning.

I reviewed each connection. The CPU is correctly placed, GPU and motherboard 24-pin are in position. The fans started rotating, but the red CPU light stayed on for about ten seconds before the system rebooted cleanly. The PSU is fixed, not modular—everything is hardwired.

I noticed you didn’t mention any additional updates to your post. I’ve looked into more sources on YouTube and forums, and many people are reporting different experiences than what I observed for you. Some users mentioned a white LED, others green, some with a blinking red LED alongside white or just a single red LED flashing. I double-checked all my components—they function perfectly, as confirmed by testing on another build I own. However, I’m starting to suspect the issue might be with my CPU. A solid red light caught my attention, and it’s not uncommon for people to see dead CPUs in search results. It could very well be the problem. This isn’t the first time I’ve assembled a PC, but this is the first time I’ve encountered such a situation, causing me some anxiety. Perhaps my CPU isn’t working properly. The RAM arrived today (T-Force 3200), so it’s not related to memory. I also checked for motherboard faults, but even then, other boards that had issues still powered on. My PC powers up normally—fans and lights activate—and the EZ Debug LED shows no CPU activity. Additionally, I confirmed the CPU isn’t too tight or loose, and my cooler (Vetroo v5 LGA 1700) is working perfectly. The RAM is fine on another build as well. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something, but I’m still confused.

It's entirely plausible the CPU is in fact dead, but it's better to check a few things first. This is a KF, that means no iGPU if memory serves. You can't get into BIOS or I would tell you to make sure iGPU is disabled, as that could conflict with a dedicated card. I presume this is a new board, no potential for prior use that might have had it set for an iGPU? And yeah, I have a tendency to add afterthoughts to my posts. I am autistic and am always thinking of something I meant to say or should have said after the fact. Edited June 5, 2022 by An0maly_76 Revised, more info

You're absolutely correct about the board and KF being an iGPU-free setup. I appreciate your honesty—it’s clear you’re focused on the right path. Since you’ve checked online and reviewed specifications thoroughly, compatibility is confirmed. It’s great you’re staying consistent! If you’d like more ideas, just let me know.

The only other solutions I can suggest are using a different LGA1700 board to wipe out the system. A budget model from eBay might work, though it's unlikely since LGA1700s are newer. If it starts up in BIOS with another processor, that indicates the problem. Otherwise, it’s probably an issue with the board or its firmware.
