Need assistance installing Windows 8? Let me know how I can help.
I encountered a serious problem. My thread had few helpful responses. I resolved everything by myself. The laptop's hard drive was fixed and reformatted using the DEsktop PC, now showing all storage correctly. It's working fine now. I also have a bootable USB drive with Windows 8 setup. However, when I connect it to my laptop, the BIOS says "NO BOOTABLE DEVICE" and insists on clicking OK, even though I'm installing Windows. In the BIOS settings, the boot menu doesn't list any options. Can someone assist me? Also, I deleted the drive test created by CMD formatting recently, leaving no partition on the hard drive. Please advise how to proceed with installing Windows now. Thank you.
It seems you're dealing with a laptop hard drive issue. The drive was originally from your laptop but was mistakenly connected to another Seagate external drive, leading to problems. After formatting the laptop drive, it now shows 460GB free space on a 500GB drive. You're trying to install Windows but the system says no bootable drive.
You’re using a blank formatted HDD on the laptop and a bootable Windows 8 USB drive, but you’re still facing problems starting from the USB.
It seems the issue lies with the USB drive, not the hard drive. The hard drive isn't bootable because Windows isn't installed on it.
