Need assistance installing a new WiFi or BT card?
Hello, I’m working on assembling my first PC and have a query about my Wi-Fi card. I received it by mail without any instructions. Inside, there were screws and wires that didn’t seem to be connected anywhere. I’m wondering if this setup was intended that way or if I needed to attach the screws myself. Thank you for your help.
It seems you're planning to assemble a Hackintosh setup. The adapter you're referring to is specifically designed for Apple's proprietary connector, not NGFF (M.2) or CNVi. Begin by inserting your WiFi card into the proprietary connector marked "CN1" at an angle, securing it with screws. Refer to your card's specifications to choose the right screw holes. The SMA connectors on the back bracket link to the antennas—verify the polarity (pin or hole) before attaching the antenna to avoid damaging components. The three signal wires use an IPX (Hirose U.FL) connector, which should plug into the corresponding IPX socket on the WiFi card. You'll also need a USB dongle to connect socket "CN2" to a motherboard USB header, enabling Bluetooth functionality.
They fit that setup. Typically, these come from Broadwell, Intel, or AzureWave.
Find the correct connection points for the three signal wires. You might think connecting it to a single PCI E slot and using the USB header would suffice.
Ok so there is a piece that I am missing? This is all that it came with.
you require a wifi card. it resembles something like this (the connector might vary)
