Hello there, newcomer to this site and forums. I'm sorry if my post went into the wrong place.
I'm looking for advice on upgrading a PC, focusing on performance, graphics, processing speed, and frame rate. It's mainly a gaming machine, so I want to know what improvements can be made and roughly how much it would cost. It has slowed down a bit over the last few months, but it's only been around two months and still has more than 30% free disk space, which isn't a big problem.
I've attached a screenshot of the system settings (not my PC):
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/9.../image.png
Any suggestions or clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
J

They should gather a list of his specifications first, then any suggestions can be made.

As someone who isn’t a gamer, I believe your partner would benefit greatly from a significantly more powerful device for gaming. However, I understand that cost could be a key factor. You might find it helpful to upgrade the graphics card—such as an RTX 3060 or 4060—and ensure you have a reliable power supply. The CPU seems to be underpowered and is now three generations behind the latest Intel technology. In the end, a complete replacement is necessary rather than just incremental improvements. If you share which games they play, more experienced users on this forum could provide better advice.

Is this a custom-built product from companies like Dell or HP, or was it assembled using standard parts available on the market? Could you identify the model number if you have a visible component?

I understand, would it be more advantageous or cost-effective to purchase a new PC? The current budget stands at 2k euros, but I could persuade her to raise it if it's absolutely necessary. Preferably, I'd like to make only a few adjustments to the components to boost performance. We mainly play games such as Valorant, Dead by Daylight, Phasmpphobia, and other FPS titles.

Hello, I'm not entirely sure about the brand—it seems to be German. However, I do recall it was prebuilt and purchased all at once without any assembly involved. The model number is Micro-Star International MS-7C89. She provided a link claiming this was the PC she bought; you can view the full specifications there: https://www.galaxus.de/en/s1/produc...tm...ewEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

From what I can observe in the gallery for the PC, it seems constructed using standard components, which is favorable.
The specifications of this PC should allow handling the titles you mentioned without significant problems, provided there are some adjustments for visual elements.
Concerning the slowdown you’re experiencing, it might be due to various factors such as multiple applications or processes running simultaneously, or potential malware/virus activity. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause.
You referred to your first post about not having hands-on experience with the build process, but are you or your partner familiar with the general environment of the operating system?
For testing purposes, please click the green human to proceed - UserBenchmark
Run the benchmark and share the link here. Be sure to disable any frame counter software like Afterburner/Riva before conducting the test.
Don’t interpret the results too strictly.

Hi there, the games are functioning properly with no major problems, only a slight delay when starting and loading the game initially. Once running, everything seems normal.

There might be ways to boost the PC's speed by improving its components, or it could be limited by a poor construction that can't be easily fixed.
