Remove the AMD driver completely using the tool from the AMD website. Restart your system and reinstall the chipset/IGPU drivers, then verify the issue. If problems persist, shut down the AMD GPU fully—likely through BIOS or NVIDIA settings on some laptops.

But then why are there so many extra steps? The SMART report suggests something more serious, maybe your SSD is failing. It could be related to a Windows update issue—definitely not good.

Thank you for your message. Yesterday I removed the drivers using DDU and then installed new ones from the websites. Now I'm still worried they might return, so I haven't turned them on yet. I'll give your advice a try if it works again.

I'm using a Klevs SSD, but it seems to have failed about a year ago. The issue started when it froze while I was unzipping a folder, so I forced a shutdown with the power button afterward. After that, it wouldn't boot and just displayed a message asking me to replace the SSD, thinking it was corrupt. That's why I'm worried about pressing the power button during a shutdown if it freezes again—I fear I might brick the operating system. For other parts, I checked the RAM with a diagnostic tool and found nothing wrong. My SSD is still running well on CrystalDisk and has good health.
