Regarding the button, it’s meant to indicate a power-on sequence—when you press it, it should trigger the startup process, but not vibrate or make noise unless you manually switch it on.
all parts are brand new. an asus tuf gaming x670e plus wifi motherboard with amd ryzen 9 7900x, 32gb corsair dominator ram, deepcool lt 720 water cooler, 360mm amd radeon rx 7900xt, msi a850gf 850w psu, plus six additional fans. i followed the manuals carefully. when i try to power on the pc, the case power button led starts flickering but nothing happens.
It seems there could be an issue with the setup. Verify all connections on the front panel—power button, power LED, drive LED, reset button, etc. If the problem persists, remove every front panel connector except the power button connector and attempt again. Once it works, gradually reattach other components one by one. If the issue continues, disconnecting only the power button may reveal if the problem is more extensive.
Verify all connections on both the power supply and the motherboard. You might also attempt to detach all power cables from the supply (keep main power active), then switch the power supply on. If you notice any clicking sounds after disconnecting everything, there’s a fault—likely with the power supply or motherboard, requiring replacement parts.
