Hello there, friends. I have a query. Can I modify the BIOS settings on my motherboard? I heard that American Megatrends uses a specific BIOS that’s locked, preventing overclocking of the RAM. I’m curious if I can switch to an unlocked version so I can perform overclocking. Here’s a picture of my BIOS settings.

The laptop model is not specified. The instructions in the bottom right were reviewed. The RAM type is single channel.

When you need help, it's wise to craft a clear and informative thread title. American Megatrends is a leading firm that creates BIOS firmware for computers, likely the biggest player in its field. Switching between BIOS providers is like changing tire brands—impractical and often unnecessary. You should check your laptop manufacturer's site for any available updates. It's improbable they'd offer features like RAM overclocking if they weren't already supported. Generally, laptops have limited options for customization. Instead of wasting effort adjusting settings without real benefit, consider investing in a proper desktop setup to truly enhance performance.

You might check the MSI site for updates on your bios/firmware/drivers and search for RAM OC guides specific to that laptop model or MSI models in general.
