Place the old memory stick back where you found it. Wipe CMOS and check if the system boots.

Occasionally, your computer may need extra time to start after changes to the RAM. Without a warning message, it might be restarting several times. Allow around five minutes for it to boot normally. If the issue persists, follow the advice from ShrimpBrime and reset the CMOS.
