It seems like you're recalling something from memory, but to confirm, consider what @Od1sseas mentioned—perhaps a driver-related issue might be the cause.

Reinstall from scratch with a custom setup and choose clean install, or use the display driver uninstaller file to remove it yourself.

Navigate to the graphics options on your Windows system, which are typically located at the top.

Open the desktop shortcut and choose display settings. Then go to the bottom and click “Graphics settings.” You’ll find an option to turn on or off Hardware Accelerated GPU Settings. Also, remove your existing GPU drivers with DDU, download the newest ones, and use NVCleanstall to install them.

You're seeing Alt + Z in GeoForce but not in the experience mode. That usually means the interface is set up differently or you're using a specific version. Check your settings or contact support for clarification.

In the Nvidia control panel 3D settings, use DSR for your display. If you're using a 1080p screen, enable it and adjust to 1.75x. This will render images at 1440p while displaying at 1080p. The process reduces CPU load and boosts GPU usage, potentially improving FPS. Experiment with quality settings until you achieve a satisfactory performance.
