I recently purchased an ASUS TUF gaming B650-E paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D kit at Microcenter. After assembling the PC, I attempted to boot it but encountered a black screen. The system was still receiving power, and everything appeared operational after reinserting and resetting components. I updated the BIOS to the latest version, but the issue persisted.

Is there a GPU available? Did you connect the monitor to it? Since your CPU lacks built-in video support, you'll need a GPU. A basic GT710 works fine for testing, though it isn't suitable for gaming.

The device includes an integrated graphics unit: https://www.amd.com/en/products/processo...00x3d.html. Possible memory training might cause a black display. Allow it to operate for a short time, then power it off and restart.

This process can actually require around 10 minutes or more at times. On the first try, using a 7500f B650 from ASRock took nearly 9 minutes to complete the initial BIOS setup, just like with standard GSKILL RAM.

Regarding the bios update, you might attempt to refresh it using the flashback option. Apologies for the oversight. Edited July 30, 2025 by leclod

I typically keep it on for a while, and I often take a smoke while it's playing, since watching a black screen can be really annoying.
