While playing GTAV Online I experience a Windows audio cue indicating a device is disconnecting and reconnecting, which briefly halts the game. This occurs intermittently. Initially I assumed it was keyboard-related because a lost connection would cut power, but replacing the keyboard didn’t resolve the problem. Now I suspect a webcam or similar device might be involved. I’ve updated drivers, yet the issue persists and can cause freezing. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. P.S. The same sound appears even when not gaming, without noticeable lag.

A USB disconnection/reconnection might trigger lag when the system is under stress. A slow CPU could also be the issue. If your operating system runs on a hard drive, that might contribute too. Could you share more details about your setup?

It's unclear exactly what you're referring to. I own a Ryzen 5 3600 running Windows 10 on a 500GB Samsung 970 Pro M.2 drive with no other devices connected.

In situations where the USB device seems to be disconnecting, there could be a particular issue with that specific device. Your system runs efficiently, so identifying the problematic device is key. I've encountered comparable issues with older USB drives whose connectors no longer function properly.

Start removing USB devices one at a time while you play. This helps identify which device is causing the issue.
