I removed it due to an issue during installation where it failed to work properly, though I don’t recall any other problems.

It seems some files were deleted for the onboard audio setup. You should be able to recover them after upgrading your macOS.

Sure, I understand. I prefer Yosemite over High Sierra or Mojave for its current setup.

The interface remains consistent across those platforms, just like in Yosemite. Using Mojave's dark mode adds an extra benefit if you prefer it.

Consider El Capitan instead. It resembles Yosemite yet offers greater stability and modern features, marking the final option for many Mac users. You may need to obtain the installer from another source unless it's already linked to your Apple ID.

I haven't located El Capitan either. It's disappointing since I had been seriously considering visiting it.

It's no longer available in the app store, so if you haven't installed it recently, you're safe. You could try getting it from another source. This link might work, though it's a hidden app store entry: https://itunes.apple.com/app/os-x-el-cap...ls=1&mt=12

Appreciate the effort, but they've already succeeded.

I started my Mac since there was nothing else to do, and I noticed a loose cable that came out unexpectedly. It worked fine now.
