You have a second-generation Intel i3 laptop that’s still functional but running sluggishly. When you try to start it, it jumps to a certain point and freezes on the loading screen. You’ve already tried recovery options and safe mode, but it keeps looping. You’re considering upgrading by adding a HDD dock to copy files and reinstall Windows, which could help if you need to back up data beforehand. Let me know if you’d like advice on troubleshooting steps or alternatives.

It seems the HDD could be failing. If possible, run a test on another machine. Check the drive's status with CrystalDiskInfo.

Is there another storage device you could insert to check if the problem lies with your current drive?

Consider starting with an entry-level SSD. Simply reinstalling Windows on the same drive won't change the performance much.
