Last night I upgraded my M.2 storage for better speed. I already had one with 500GB, but it was limited. My motherboard is an ASUS Strix B450-I. I placed the first drive on the back and the new one in the front slot. I forgot to install a standoff on the back, so initially only USB drives worked. The next day I tried again—this time it worked! But after about an hour of gaming everything froze. The game displayed a loading screen for five minutes, then I saw a blue screen saying it couldn’t detect any bootable media. Does this mean the motherboard is permanently damaged? I’m trying to figure this out before buying a replacement just in case.

Additionally, I've observed my fans spinning a bit more than usual, which makes me think I might have ruined my board permanently.
