I've been experiencing black screen. I would turn on my laptop and it would be on then nothing shows up on screen then fans kick on max. Then sometimes restarts and repeats. I've done everything to reseating my ram, ssd, wifi, and unplugging the battery and do a hard reset. There's no cmos battery on the motherboard. My laptop Is a Asus tuf gaming laptop. Model number FX706H or TUF706H3. I've contacted asus but there suggestion didn't work. It's been doing this since June and till now it's gotten worse no asus logo when turned on Messenger_creation_0f81cd5e-8c54-4e5b-b051-1050a2ec4f61.mp4
It’s worrying, but the system should still start up. The battery appears to be missing or failing. Initially it worked perfectly, but starting in June the problem began and has since intensified. Now even the ASUS logo won’t appear, resulting in a black screen. This suggests a firmware problem. The worsening nature of the issue seems to contradict a simple battery failure. You mentioned a firmware update—remember if you did one recently? Try to trace the exact moment it started. Check if any LEDs are flashing, as they might indicate an error code. Avoid loud beeps during startup, as those signal POST errors. If possible, connect another monitor and see if it displays anything.
When I power it on, the button LED lights up and the laptop starts up, but the screen remains blank with no ASUS logo—just a black display. I think it's likely a power issue. After a short while, the fans spin at full speed and the CPU, GPU, and other components heat up. I've reset it several times, but it still doesn't work. It appears to be a 11th Gen Intel i7-11000 with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a 3050Ti chipset. I'm considering taking it to a repair shop or contacting ASUS. Edited August 3, 2024 by Yurizek93
In April I needed to get it repaired at ASUS for the motherboard, but they replaced it and I received it back in June. Since then, the laptop has been having issues. It powers on but shows the ASUS logo, then Windows appears, but the screen stays black. Sometimes it restarts repeatedly without any change. The firmware was updated by ASUS when I had it fixed. I’m really worried the laptop might be damaged. I have some tech experience, but not much.
It looks like there might be a hardware problem. Given this pattern, power issues could be the cause. Have you tried taking out the battery and testing with just the adapter? I’d like to understand what happened.
Have you checked another monitor to verify the display quality? Even a TV can serve as a test.
