The only solution for a steady and dependable link is not to use wireless technology. Regardless, all these elements indicate a slight risk that the controller might fail. This doesn't guarantee the controller will always stop working or cause gameplay issues.

I can't picture connecting a very long usb cable, over 10 feet, to my controller and pc just to play comfortably on a couch or bed. Are there any reliable wireless options available for pc gaming today, even with the latest hardware like Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6? How do consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Series ensure consistent wireless performance for gamers anywhere in a room? I know wired connections are better for online games, but I'm mainly interested in wireless play with popular controllers like the PS5 or Xbox Series.

If by "consistent reliable" you mean absolute dependability, there are many factors beyond your control that might influence the communication between two devices. Think of it like trying to chat with a friend in a noisy restaurant—there’s loud noise and distractions, making it hard to have a clear conversation. You can’t just ask everyone to stop talking or turn off the music. This is the reality most wireless gadgets face.

I think you’re exaggerating a bit. I’m highlighting possible disruptions. Saying "less reliable" doesn’t mean the system has a 50% chance of failure; it could still be very dependable, like 98% or more. Instead of getting stuck in this discussion, consider buying something from a store that offers returns and testing it out. A week should give you enough time to see if it meets your expectations and return it if needed.

Thank you a lot. I was only asking some prep questions to minimize the chances of losing time because of potential hardware installations or returns.
Cheers.

Hello, my duelsense works fine on my PC using a budget USB BT adapter without any problems. You can try a tool called dualSense X to convert XInput from the controller for games that only support it. This program also lets you set up different profiles for adaptive triggers.
