Hey there, I heard you switched from a Tier E Z370-A Pro to a better MSI MEG Z390 ACE, but you're still facing issues with RAM overclocking. The 3200 MHz to 3400 MHz jump didn’t happen as expected, and even with higher timings and voltages (up to 1.5V), the screen keeps failing. What might be going on?

Are you fine-tuning secondary and tertiary settings? Overclocking isn't a one-size-fit-all solution—different boards and BIOS versions likely affect the outcome. Being ranked higher on a list doesn't ensure optimal performance across all systems.

B-Die? Is this your device? CMT32GX4M2C3200C16 CL 16-18-18 XMP 3200mhz? Launch Typhoon Burner to view a screenshot. Open the EEPROM tab and check the SPD at the bottom of the list, either insert the stick. thphn160 (1).zip

Yep! They’re B- die. That’s what I first called them and confirmed they’re B-die. Check out the screenshot too, plus a picture of the exact kit I purchased.

I just set the settings to auto and followed the same steps as before. I changed the clock speed to 3400 and adjusted the voltage through several values—1.35, 1.4, 1.45, 1.47, then 1.5—but stopped because I didn’t want to exceed 1.5V. On my older board, it operated at 3400 MHz with a voltage of 1.43V and timings set to auto, running at speeds like 19-19-19-39.

The board seems to reject the memory, even if the BIOS is current. At XMP, can it support CL16-16-16?

You're observing lower resolution in the B-Die at certain timings, resembling A-Die performance. The IMC seems capable of handling memory and board issues, but the problem might lie elsewhere. Consider adjusting VCCIO to 1.20v and VCCSA to 1.150v (up to 1.2v) to see if it improves things. Also, test memory tuning with a standard CPU to confirm if the issue is memory-related or CPU-related.

Not sure about MSI boards, didn’t ask before buying the motherboard. Would’ve suggested investing in higher-quality RAM. Prefer 16GB.
