BF1 stands out among many titles as one of the rare games that can run smoothly across more than four processors. While most applications hit around 70% performance due to reliance on just four cores, BF1’s scalability offers a significant advantage. Why should you care? Because being able to leverage more cores can greatly enhance your gaming or computing experience.

Since few people use it heavily and if games become more CPU-heavy, my 6700k might struggle soon.

I acknowledge there are issues with how BF1 handles your CPU. I've experienced this myself, even with an i5-6600K. Usually I get smooth performance at 60 FPS or more, but sometimes I get stuck at 45–50 FPS when the CPU is fully loaded and have to restart the game. It seems like a rare optimization problem. In your situation, it doesn't seem to be severely affecting you. Both your CPU and graphics card might be near their limits. If the GPU can't handle more load, reducing CPU usage probably won't help much. So, are you dealing with actual performance problems or just a high CPU reading? If you disregard the numbers, does the game still feel playable?

Your CPU is presently the most powerful gaming processor available. It won’t become underpowered or outdated for years to come. However, if you worry your costly equipment might become obsolete, you could sell it and upgrade to a Pentium G4400 with an GTX 1050. That way, you’ll immediately see you’re outdated.

It's all about feeling secure... the game performs well, yet the high CPU readings are really concerning.

Windows 10 can sometimes cause odd behavior on your CPU, but it usually handles things well until performance issues or overheating arise. You're probably safe as long as it doesn't become a concern.

I'm going to say it's normal, then. BF1 seems to do this from time to time. I wouldn't worry about RAM usage, either. It's pretty normal for a game to increase its memory footprint once you've played it for an hour or so and loaded in and out of several maps. A "memory leak" is when a program doesn't release the memory it uses when it should, and it just keeps going until your system runs out and the application crashes. It's a glitch in the progam's code that the developers themselves would need to patch out. It isn't something you can fix and your own hardware can't be at fault for it.
