Hello, earlier I received an MSI Z370 gaming M5 motherboard with some faulty Socket pins. The board stopped working after the first try to install it, and it was actually someone else who caused the damage. Today I managed to get a CPU compatible with this board and attempted the installation again. I was hoping the motherboard wouldn’t even detect the CPU, but surprisingly, it did recognize the one shown in the photo. Despite having seven broken pins scattered across different sections, my concern is whether this motherboard and CPU will function reliably—probably not.
Tech Yes City created a video about something comparable. At that stage, it could be a new motherboard—try to repair it or troubleshoot and discover what the pins connect to. For Tech Yes City, the situation was similar: the CPU had a broken edge with about 3 to 5 pin pads missing. The computer still functioned, but the X16 PCIe slot and most RAM slots weren’t working.
we need to address those key issues effectively. the main goal is to resolve the bent pins and maximize performance. the mechanical pencil method isn’t ideal due to the unusual shape of the pins. consider alternative approaches like precision straightening tools or professional servicing to fix the alignment.
The diagram's gaps correspond to the pin positions on the left side of the socket. It seems you were fortunate... difficult to express. The top three pins are blank, or ground pins (black) one in the upper-right corner is a single DDR4 RAM pin (blue in the diagram), another in the same spot is empty/ground (black in the diagram), and two pins on the left are CPU voltage pins... VCC (red in the diagram).
It seems the board should function normally for everyday tasks like browsing and occasional games, provided you have the right memory slot.
