I'm just going to state this straight. I'm new to overclocking and wanted to push my RAM up to 3000 MHz without adjusting the timings (so I left it auto on the BIOS), but the BIOS won't let me. It looks like it only reaches 2666 MHz. I tried 2933 MHz, but it didn't even start.

It's likely that if that RAM could operate at 3000MHz, it would have been marketed as a 3000MHz unit instead of a 2400MHz one. Even with some adjustments, achieving 3000MHz would be difficult, and the kit probably wouldn't have succeeded.
