Hey there! I’m about to assemble my very first PC and have already done some online research. Here’s what I came up with:
Processor: Intel i5-14600K ✅
Motherboard: MSI Pro Z790-P Wifi DDR5 LGA1700 ATX ✅
RAM: G.Skill F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5RK Trident Z5 RGB Black 32GB 2x16GB 6000MHz DDR5 ✅
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4060 TI Windforce OC 16GB GV-N406TWF2OC-16GD ✅
Cooling Unit: Cooler Master Hyper RR-212TK-18PA-R1 212 LED Turbo ARGB ✅
SSD (M.2): Samsung MZ-V9P2T0BW 990 Pro 2TB NVMe PCIe ✅
Power Supply: Corsair CX750 750W 80+ Bronze Certified SKU: CP-9020279-NA ✅
Case: Darkflash Pollux Mid-tower ATX Gaming Case with Tempered Glass Black ✅
Monitor: Asus VG279Q3A TUF 27" IPS 180Hz Gaming Monitor ✅
I’m really unsure about this setup since I’ve only used computers before and haven’t built one myself. I’d appreciate your advice on whether these parts work well together or if I might run into problems.
Thanks a lot for your time and feedback!

CPU cooler and power supply options aren't ideal. The Hyper 212 worked well today, but it was built for CPUs that used less power than modern ones. There are more affordable alternatives available from brands like Thermalright and Peerless. Power supply requirements go beyond just wattage; the CX model is quite basic. I’d opt for a Corsair RM750e or a Thermaltake Gold rated unit, or even an MSI MAG model if budget allows.

Excess spending on SSDs isn’t worth it. The speed gap between top-tier PCIe 4.0 drives and mid-range PCIe 3.0 drives is minimal except in specific cases. I usually settle for Western Digital Black, Sabrent Rocket Plus, or Crucial P3/P5 Plus models.

A 4060Ti 16GB is a reasonable pick, but the extra 8GB isn’t noticeable unless you’re using high-end graphics. At 1080p resolution, you won’t typically need 16GB of VRAM.

I’d choose the cheapest RTX4070 available or go for an AMD 7700XT with ample memory bandwidth instead.

1- Avoid the Hyper 212, it was a reasonable budget pick ten years ago, but now it feels too expensive and not up to the job. The Thermalright assassins offer superior cooling and great value for their performance.
2- Invest in a better PSU, because the power supply is crucial for the system's health and shouldn't be cut corners.
3- Consider opting for 1080p on a 27-inch screen before purchasing, as I've noticed they appear blurry at typical viewing distances.

Good point, I owned a 27" 1080p display for many years. (It was quite high-end at the time) It wasn't great for reading or browsing, though it handled gaming well. The pixel density was just a bit low. 23.8/24/24.5" monitors are the better choice for 1080p. A 27" screen should be 1440p, but that would be more challenging to run.

Yo! I'll follow your recommendations for the cooling unit and PSU, but I think I'ma stick with my current choice of GPU and SSDs, and just hope that I can still keep using them even after I upgrade the other components in the future. As for the monitor, I can settle for a 24" with 1080p, just so I can enjoy a better view on my screen like you guys suggested.
This was very helpful and I learned many things. Again, thanks a ton for your inputs and expert guidance! Much appreciated. 😁
