Your internet speed has improved significantly, but the results vary between connections. Ethernet offers a stable 4 ping at 100 Mbps, while Wi-Fi delivers 340 Mbps download and upload but with less consistent performance. For gaming, a wired connection might provide more reliability and lower latency, but if you prefer flexibility, Wi-Fi could still work well. Consider your gaming needs and whether a wired solution is feasible for you.

They're essentially the same speed. Make sure you use the correct terminology, but it looks like your connection is capped at 100mbps on certain ports.

He mentioned a 1 GB/s rate, possibly indicating he now has significantly faster internet access.

I’m adjusting my approach since networking isn’t my area of expertise. We moved from a 100 megabits connection to a 1 gigabit speed. Our router appears to be the Verizon Fios Quantum, while we’re using an Orbi as our switch. I’ve tested connecting my Ethernet directly to the router in various locations and to the Orbi, and everything delivers consistent performance. What about your NIC?
