Need a recommendation for a GPU?
Looking for a suitable entry-level GPU to handle running two 24-inch monitors at 1440p/QHD. I’m currently using a Gigabyte B460 HD3 with an Intel I5-10400, a 650W power supply, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. When purchasing the graphics card and CPU, I wasn’t aware it could support more than one monitor simultaneously. Now I’m planning to add two HDMI displays for tasks like word processing, without needing gaming or heavy graphics performance. I haven’t decided yet on the monitors—hoping to find a good deal at Black Friday. I usually shop on Amazon and Newegg.
Anyone have a recommendation for a budget-friendly GPU that would fit this setup? The MSI Gaming GeForce GT 710 2GB GDRR3 (64-bit) at $57 seems to work well (Amazon link provided).
The GT710 can handle what you require, and your existing motherboard should work too. You can connect a DVI to HDMI adapter to the motherboard for the second HDMI link. Have you tried this before? Here are some links:

Set the second monitor to 1080p, it should function properly for your needs.
That CPU supports multiple monitors well. The issue likely lies with your motherboard's ports. A single HDMI connection should suffice for one monitor. ColGeek's advice about the DVI-D adapter is correct—it can help you avoid purchasing a video card.
ColGreek, your suggestion is appreciated along with the provided links. I haven't tried it yet; I suppose I could use a second monitor at 1080 but I think a 1440 resolution would be better. This might be excessive in general. I'm currently using an old HP 24yh at 1080 and it's performing well enough. Still, upgrading could be worthwhile since I spend a lot of time online and doing word processing. The MSI seems to be a strong option as well.

When purchasing just one monitor, connect the new one to the existing HDMI port and the older 1080p model to the second modified port.
I might go ahead with that, COLGeek. However, before deciding, I need to check if a 24" 1440 unit fits my needs. I recently tried a 27" version and found it more than sufficient. If the 24" model impresses me, I might still opt for it as a second option, whether it's set at 1440 or 1080. I'm still exploring this and catching up on recent developments after a long hiatus of over four years.
