10 core refresh from Intel ehh? You mean the extremely fake leak Intel fanboys put out that's been debunked by pretty much everyone lol. 14nm++++ If we're going to play the waiting game just wait for Ryzen 3. Then Ryzen 4. Or Intel's 10nm. Should be finished by then.

It won't work. The eight essential components are already too hot. Adding ten cores doesn't help and actually reduces performance in several areas. The ringbus becomes longer, leading to lower IPC, or they switch to mesh, which is even less efficient than the ringbus.

They're still debating the origins, but it's not exactly what I was thinking. Zen 2 and 3 should come out before Intel can really push their 10nm desktop chips. That's around late 2020 to early 2021—sorry, I mixed up the timeline earlier. I mistakenly used the 7nm fab date instead of the actual one.

I was focusing too much on future possibilities. Let's stay focused. The key is whether running two games improves performance more with quicker cores on a certain number (Intel) or with better thread handling on AMD. From what I understand, games tend to favor faster single-core speeds and don't really make threads saturated enough to be the clear winner in multi-threaded scenarios. Looking for input from someone familiar with this!

no one is focusing on the actual reason behind wanting to play two games simultaneously.

Registered purely to check if someone had a fix, I’m in a similar situation now and curious if there’s a clear answer for this kind of scenario.
