When you save the file as a .txt, your friend’s computer will automatically use Notepad, though he can click right-click and choose Word or another text editor instead.

Tell him to launch Word first, then navigate to File>open using Ctrl + O, and select the file from Word is another choice.

Your friend might not understand the concept of right-clicking or the 'open with' option. Could there be an issue with his computer or mouse? Or is he just unfamiliar with these terms?

Open extensions for recognized files in your folder. Change the file name from .txt to .doc.
