I've observed that on castle maps occasionally, when viewing one side from a certain angle, the shadows appear distorted—effectively turning into a dark-filter overlay for texture. I'm pushing to maximum performance with DX11, and it seems like the game might be handling this issue. Could be a fault on my end or something related to the engine.

It's just the perspective—when I turn the camera, it disappears and at a 45-degree shift it vanishes entirely. Only one of the castle walls fits this pattern. I think it's intentional for the game.

I checked online and noticed similar issues among some players. There were occasional small variations, especially on the Japanese map and battle maps. It seems to be a texture missing bug from around 2012-2013. If your game isn’t current, updating might fix it. Another possible solution: adjust the shadow settings in graphics options—raise or lower them as needed. After changing, return to the game and the tiles should disappear. Then revert shadows back to default. I hope this helps!

Yeah - soz. I usually review each quote I receive, but when others don't reference me, I often lose track.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate the chance to improve. My performance can still have issues, so I’ll make sure to check more often. Is there anything specific you’d like me to clarify?

I didn't even try—just as long as my card works, it's fine. I hope you have a chance to listen to my growing unease. In XCOM I'm experiencing some tearing effects, but not from artifacts. Maybe the mod I'm using is the culprit—it's packed with two free expansions, which adds a lot but could be stressing the engine. I attempted to record with my 30 fps phone, but sometimes a particular screen area seems to tear. Interestingly, TitanFall used up all my VRAM yet it worked, Witcher 3 and other tough games are fine, and OCCT doesn't throw any errors. Probably the game itself is the issue.
