You're looking for a sound card compatible with your 64-bit Windows 10 setup, especially since you have a server board and an older Creative CT2518 that works well in Ubuntu. It seems you're trying to find a driver for it, but haven't located one. Consider checking official Creative support pages or forums for the latest drivers, as compatibility can vary between versions and platforms.

old sound cards with game ports usually won’t function on Windows 10 since no one develops compatible drivers. I remember many of these 'retro' cards lost support in Windows 7, and some still have workarounds, but overall the driver system has changed so much it’s not worth the effort. USB sound cards are affordable, while high-end modern ones can cost around forty dollars.

According to the referenced sources, this card relies on a driver similar to the Ensoniq AudioPCI, which was limited to Windows XP and 2000. The Creative support page notes compatibility issues with newer systems like Windows 8+, suggesting it may not function properly under those versions. It’s possible a different driver exists for Windows 10, but Microsoft’s generic sound driver likely won’t support it.

In my experience, most people use Ubuntu with plug and play, but I had a terrible time with a USB sound card—I’d prefer PCI-E instead.

the usb card had a lot of noise inside, making it sound like an fm radio that wasn't properly tuned.
