This was a great PC and their support is solid too. None of these larger firms would have assisted me in retrieving the original image. I've attempted to obtain an image from ASUS before, but they were ineffective. I had to use a generic installer and manually reinstall all drivers, which often failed because the device manager displayed yellow marks on several devices and never resolved them.
I’m planning to continue purchasing these computers moving forward. They’re compact, don’t occupy much desk space, and include a VESA bracket for easy mounting on your monitor if desired.
I’m unsure about the GMKtech brand, but I’ll look into it.
I thought these PCs were a scam, but I’m glad I gave them a try. Once the Gabe Cube is released in a few months, I’ll switch to that and own two mini-PCs while selling my 75lb boat anker.
It was just over 10GB, and I transferred it to a USB drive before restarting the computer from there. The installation restored the partitions exactly as they were when I received the device. They provided an encrypted link from mega.nz, which I hadn't used before. After downloading, it decrypted itself and removed the link afterward. The machine is functioning perfectly. I installed Mint and really liked it, but it was too complex to replace all my existing programs, so I reverted to Windows. The only drawback is that connecting my Logitech Z906 5.1 isn't possible yet, though that won't matter for now. Additionally, these models come with a 3-year warranty, unlike many other PCs from ASUS which usually offer just one year.
