Many photo, video and music makers/editors prefer MAC over Windows. This applies to programming on Linux—even though it was originally built from a Linux branch—and all other systems run on Windows.

On my Mac, I can only play source games that run on Intel 4000 graphics. The performance is actually great since it uses around 1300x900 pixels. On Steam, there are just fewer titles available for Mac users.

You set up software that transforms files into a format Windows can understand. Essentially, it alters the way Windows processes files for opening, reading, and modifying them. On the other hand, a Mac doesn’t need this conversion, which contributes to its speed in handling music, photos, and creative work. I’m sure there are additional benefits to such a feature, though I don’t know what they are.

Another case is CoreAudio versus ASIO with VST compatibility. Also consider tools that ignore Windows support, such as Logic Pro. Don’t rely on this space for people who only care about Windows, because it’s dominated by Windows purists and Apple critics. However, beware of registration issues.

Hmm? It's just a set of files to help Windows read the image—Microsoft didn't add much to the built-in viewer, but I actually don't use it much. When I save my photos in Lightroom, it works the same as with Apple Photos or on a Mac. It's basically the same thing.

In reality, discussing this directly with Mac enthusiasts will offer little benefit. "Better" means something different than "better/easier for me." From my perspective, the Macbook Air performs surprisingly well in gaming. This comes from someone who mainly uses Windows. If you're after a laptop, it's best to make your own setup.

You're questioning my stance because I prefer mac and believe it offers advantages in design. I'm defending that view.

I appreciate OSX as an operating system and admire the Macs for their build quality and design. They really stand out, and I might even be considering a 15" retina display soon. However, nowadays they don’t offer much more in terms of design or editing. It’s not that they’re bad anymore—just not as impressive as before. On my PC, I can run full Adobe CC just as well, and many other creative tools work similarly across both platforms. For editing 4K video in Premiere, performance is comparable on both systems; the PC might even give you better hardware value for the same price.

Most top design tools are built for Mac initially, with Windows versions available when needed.
