Hi all, I am stuck. I am trying to get to the boot order menu on my Asus VI Crosshair Hero so I can choose what drive to boot from. I was under the assumption that the F8 key would make that pop-up but it doesn't. So I tried the Escape, F2 (this loads the UEFI), F8, F10 and F12 but no luck. What am I doing wrong? Is it a different key? Or have I messed with a setting in the UEFI to stop this menu from working alltogether and if so how do I undo that? I just click restart in Windows and when booting constantly clicked one of those keys. That should do it right? Regards, Martin

Your UEFI should include a method to access the boot order menu for further review.

I couldn't locate it. There is a boot tab with many MANY options but as fas as I could see no option to enable the boot order menu. It has a boot order menu of it's own of course where you can set which drive to boot from. But it would be huge hassle to constantly go into the UEFI just to boot of a different drive. There ought to be a boot order menu "pop-up'. I now also tried the Delete key but again no luck.

Based on what I've discovered, an F8 from the UEFI could potentially reach your destination.

It seems the process is more complicated than expected. Even within the UEFI, it displays F8 but doesn’t function properly. I attempted to disable fast boot and check the boot menu, but that didn’t help. Changing the boot order to a USB drive caused further complications, including Windows repair issues. This situation is frustrating, especially given the cost of the motherboard.

You may need to turn off secure boot. If it's already off, attempt the legacy BIOS configuration.
