Hello, I was wondering if heat shrink tubing would melt the 4 sense wires on the native 12vhpwr cable, because they are small and fragile. The Seasonic user manual say's don't put strain on the connecter or wiring because this could lead to overheating which could lead to melting. Also it states not to bend the cable anywhere near the connecter inside the range of 35mm. so what I was thinking was to put a piece of on the back side of the connecter and run it about 40mm, this would insure that the connecter wires didn't have to much strain on it. but I'm wondering about heat from shrinking the tubing would this melt or damage the 4 small sense wires. was trying to find a image of the cable so I could show what I was talking about, so I wouldn't need to create me a account to a imaging service. we really need it to be where we can post images directly not go through a third party service I digress.

I wouldn't modify the cables, particularly because altering stock cables might cancel your warranty. If you're sure about your plan, proceed with what this thread suggests you're unsure of. If you haven't previously sleeved cables or don't know how to do it, I recommend against it. Using too much heat from a heat gun can damage the cable no matter its gauge.

I was considering the same idea. I've worked with heat shrieked cables before, but they were larger than what I needed. I chose not to use heat shrinking due to the risks involved. Instead, I plan to use split wire loom tubing, which is commonly used for automotive wiring harnesses. This should safeguard the cables and help with effective cable management.

Are you certain this is necessary? I'm curious about the required tightness of the bend.

In this situation it's not the bend but the cable quality, unlike the cables from evga which are bundled together in a cloth mesh, the Seasonic cables are simply bundled with zip ties. As you run your cables it becomes extremely easy to have them cross over each other. By using the split wire loom I'll be able to run the cable's and have some flexibility without putting unnecessary stress on the connectors. Bad evga hasn't developed a PSU that meets atx 3.0 or 5.0 standards, but they will definitely need to stay relevant.

Maybe examine the sleeved cables from Cablemod... This can help ease your concerns about compatibility. + EVGA should make a strong comeback by focusing on other priorities, especially after ending their partnership with Nvidia (at least for this generation).

I don't see Evga returning with Nvidia. It would be nice if they ever chose to develop their own GPU or switch to a competitor of Nvidia. Don't misunderstand, I appreciate the reliability of the Nvidia cards, but their business practices are questionable, which explains why Evga left. I've experimented with AMD, and it's consistently difficult for me to get the card to function properly. If it's not the fans that fail, it's usually due to driver issues or artifacts. I still love AMD for their CPUs, and while others have succeeded with their GPUs, I can't say the same for myself. I saw both videos from Jays2cent showing the Evga prototype of the 4090—something everyone would want. With a firmware update for the BIOS, it seems they have the capability to build their own GPU. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope they make a big impact in the future.
