I’d check if the NAS offers a DDNS solution compatible with your setup. I’m aware Asustor provides one for their clients, but you’d probably need to configure certain ports on your router. The specific NAS model matters a lot, as it influences the available apps and services.

using two routers means I can't apply the ez-router configuration, which results in the error "Rejected request from RFC1918 IP to public server address" when attempting a connection.

It seems confusing why router 2 would block traffic from the NAS even though it functions as an access point. That logic doesn’t align with typical network setups. Just connect directly to router 1 and set up port forwarding instead.
