Mysterious attraction to Gigabye GA-H77N
Hello! It's interesting you noticed the price differences on eBay. These motherboards are in high demand because they offer great performance and reliability. Many buyers value their quality and features, which can drive prices up. If you're concerned about security, make sure to use secure payment methods and keep your details private.
they aren't sought after at all, just another standard mini ITX 1155 board with nothing special about it. There are many of those overpriced listings on all online marketplaces, but they just pop up for some reason. No one seems interested in buying them, yet they still exist. Probably because there are other rare collectible boards like the EVGA SR-2, Gigabyte X58A OC, Foxconn Bloodrage, Rampage Extreme (775), etc. If your board was something similar, you might find more since those are sought after. OC boards, especially the SR-2 for its dual socket 1366 compatibility with OC and the Rex for bench building on the 775, are also valuable. Prices tend to be inconsistent, especially when listings are available, since these boards are rare. The H77N is just another typical MITX 1155 board, and you can easily find many of them or other MITX form factors.
This sounds like a solid plan! I'll check to see which items are purchased and their prices.
Thanks to everyone's input! It got sold quickly—just a week after going live. There were 8 people checking it out before the sale. Really interesting interest for something so outdated.
It might not be very expensive, but the right old-school hardware can fetch more than you think. You can look through finished ads on ebay. If I visit ebay.com and type in that mobo, yesterday someone sold it for $30. Back then it was a February sale, with a bad RAM slot and an i3 for $60. We then check back in December where one was listed for $140 with an i3 and 4GB of RAM available. Perhaps others noticed that December price and are using it as a benchmark.
